Frequently asked questions

Heres a list of common questions that people ask, and that may come into your head when deciding to go ahead with exercise or one to one training with a trainer.

Q- What is the best way to loose body fat?

A- First you must eat correctly, what I mean by this is eating towards your own biological individuality, this is determined by having your metabolic type tested. From there you will know what about of protein, fats and carbohydrates your body or to go a bit deeper your cells need for your to function effectively, mentally and physically. When your cells have the correct ratio of the three marco nutrients your cells will turn your food into energy and not into body fat.

Secondly your must train to elevate to basil metabolic rate, the most effective way to do this is to use resistance exercise, which can just be your body, exercise bands, medicine balls and free weights using these forms of resistance can speed up your metabolic rate for many hours after, and along with eating towards metabolic type you are onto a winner with this combination.

Q- Will Cardiovascular help me reduce body fat?

A- Firstly muscles or should I say the muscle cells are the most fuel hungry cells in the body, meaning the more muscles cells you have, by having more muscle not necessarily big muscles but dense hard and defined muscles you will then have more of these cells, and they will happily eat up your fat cells. On the other hand cardiovascular exercise when done excessively produces and break down hormone of the body called glucocorticoids if which other time break down muscle, which is needed to burn fat. This is why weight lifting is far more beneficial than cardiovascular work.

Q- Are bodybuilding supplement shakes and other supplements any good?

A- In all honesty no- supplements compared to good whole food eating mean nothing, yet the big supplement companies still make out that their products to be the answer, racking in billions year after year. If these shakes really worked for the pro bodybuilders who promote them they would not need to use steroids or all the other growth hormones needed to produce their big muscles, and that not going to put your body in a healthy state.

Q- Should I train like the bodybuilders I see on the front of the bodybuilding magazines?

A- Simple answer to this is -NO! why because most of the workout routines that are promoted in these magazines are to long, to intense and contain a lot of dis-functional exercises which goes against the way he body is meant to work. Also these same routines cause a lot of overt raining for almost everyone. The reason that the guys in the mags get results from these types of routines is by the amount of drugs they inject into themselves, causing ill health but giving the illusion to the readers that they are healthy and    fit but are wasting away on the inside, this is not bodybuilding. Bodybuilding is working towards a truly stronger and healthy body from the inside out.

Q- How and how many times should I train a week to build bigger and stronger muscles

A- Anywhere between two to three times a week at the very most, in some cases training    every three to four days depending when your body if fully recovered from the last workout,     the varies from person to person due to genetics, quality of diet and sleep, making sure      your not over training within your training sessions. Sometimes it best to train around your   own biological (recovery ability) calendar than a weekly calendar you have on your wall, trail   and error is needed here.

Q- What are the best exercises for me?

A- This all depends on your goals you want achieve, and weakness you may have that may needs strengthening up. This can only be work through constant assessing of your body, and re-evaluations every couple of months, the exercises you do also depend what your work and / or sports environment demands of you.

Q- How can I improve my flexibility

A- The best way to improve your flexibility is to find what muscles are tight as you only needed to stretch out tight muscles and leave to loose ones along. This will then balance your posture out over time and relieve muscle aches and pains that usually caused by muscle tightness and weaknesses which usually leads to posture imbalances.

Q- How can I improve my energy levels?

A- The best way to improve your real energy levels is to go about improving your health the best that you can, depending on the current condition of your health. This is why having you metabolic type tested before you start any exercise programme is a good idea, as it will help  to balance your body out to bring around good health from the inside out. If your health is not quite up to par and you keep expending more energy through working out than what your body has in its reserves, your body will go into an energy crisis. This is why you find people using a lot of stimulants eg:red ball, lots of coffee, lots of sugary food to give the body a false sense  of energy which then put the body in more of an energy crisis over time.

Q- How can I reduce my stress levels

A- There are many forms of stress these include physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. This is why I get you to fill out a life style questionnaire when to do the lifestyle course to see how much your body is stressed out, in the first three types of stress just mentioned. Physical stress includes injuries, illness, disease, exercising, infections, taking certain drugs. Mental can include being stress full job, having to look after a lot people in the family, noise pollution, getting into a fight. Emotional stress can include being in a relationship that not right, losing a loved one, not going for what you want in life and many more. All of these can put stress on the body in a good way and in a bad way, but having to much stress from different sources all the time is not good.

So the best way to reduce stress is to start eating correctly most of the time, eating according to your metabolic type this will bring the body back into balance allowing it to handle life stresses a lot better. Exercise is also good but depending on how high your stress levels are depends on what type of exercises are best for you at that time. If some was very high on the stress level giving them an intense weight training programme will increase the stress level further, so some like this will need to do some working in, energizing exercise first plus having a good diet and once their stress being to drop and health improves then its ok to step up the exercise. Getting enough sleep with in your week will help to, taking an hour a day to go for a walk or just to get out of the office to find some peace and quiet to allow your mind relax, unwind and to restore focus.
